Ok, so I don't really give a shit about updating this particular journal. So I guess now would be a good time. I am stuck at home.

Well, here's what has happened in the last few months. I've taken lots of pictures. It's very freeing to be able to upload to here whenever and whatever I want. I feel a little disheartened, because I see some stuff that gets DD and shit like that, and it's awful. I understand that this is a huge depository of art, and that everyone should have an equal chance for accolade, but I think that there is much better work on the site.

I don't really care about getting it myself, but when I see fantastic work here that no one has seen, I feel bad for the artist.

I got a new camera. It's a 10D, and it is amazing. I mean, 3.11MP is great, and the D30 has some nice features, but all of the features it has are also on the 10D and then some, as well as double the pixels. It's frustrating to have to turn your camera on its side to review portrait photos as well having to rotate the file in the computer, and now I don't have to. Also, the raws on the D30 weren't totally fantastic, especially considering that I couldn't afford fantastic glass. I've got some decent lenses now, but still having a 7pt AF is nice. Also it's really nicee having a camera that focus' in the dark. The D30 was totally crippled indoors at night.

My inspiration has changed, somewhat. I love shooting portraits, but I am not quite ready to do photo shoots. I have models and ideas, but I don't think I have the mastery of the craft quite enough to take photos that I want to turn out exactly how I've imagined them. I would also like to get some real lighting. Kudos canon for a great pop up flash, but, honestly, it's very harsh.
